![]() I'm with you, I'm totally hoping it's the traditional DLC. Perhaps adding civs from AoE 1 to AoE 2 is what they meant so that would fall under the traditional DLC or like you said, converting AoE 1 to AoE 2 engine which I think it's pointless. Hmm after reading the details again "We’re adding Age of Empires: Definitive Edition content, playable in the Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition client!", it could go either way. If i want to play AoE 1, then i'll just download AoE 1, and there's also a mod called "Romae Ad Bellum" that pretty much does that conversion already, so there's no reason not to be a traditional DLC. Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome includes four new campaigns and civilizations inspired. It is an official expansion pack of the Age of Empires, the first Age of Empires game to be released. ![]() I'm really hoping that it'll be a traditional DLC, i don't care what people think of timelines, i want the new(old) civs adapted into the current game. Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome is a real-time strategy game developed by Ensemble Studios and released by Microsoft on October 31, 1998. ![]() I would love to play the AOE campaigns made in DE and I'd rather them be able to make the civs more like the original then have to design them to fit with play against the AoE2 civs. Just download and start playing it we have provided direct link full free setup of the game. Then again, I'm not really into the "traditional" DLC they've released so far and haven't even bothered buying them. A DLC like that is more of what I wanted from the AoE1DE anyway, and I'd much rather have an official product that have to use mods. That actually sounds like something worth buying. I'm really hoping that it'll be a traditional DLC, i don't care what people think of timelines, i want the new(old) civs adapted into the current game. Instead of the traditional 3-4 new civs and 3 new campaigns, this one will probably be a total conversion of AoE 1 remade into AoE 2, adding new stuff like gates, diagonal walls, garrisoning, squad formations and stuff like that, which means it'll be a different launcher for the game and people won't be able to play with other people using the normal AoE 2 launcher, so no Romans vs Franks for example.
